Bio

I am a photographer and nurse living and working in New York City. My interest is long term photographic projects involving story telling and environmental portraiture. Before studying photography and moving to New York, I worked as a nurse in a Baltimore City trauma unit. Taking care of people who were struggling for their lives - people from all walks of life - prepared me in a way not to shy away from the intensity and conflict found in everyday life. That is what I look for in my photographs - truth, beauty, the unexpected and the desire to experience life with all of its glorious imperfections. I have worked on projects in the US and abroad and have exhibited in NYC at The Photographic Gallery, Terrazzo Art Projects, Open Society Foundation and Chashama Art Studios. My photographs have been featured regularly in The Sun Magazine. I have studied and worked as a teaching assistant at The International Center of Photography.
